BACH CONCERT SERIES
Bach Cantata 77
35-voice choir and soloists perform Bach Cantata 77, Du sollt Gott, deinen Herren, Lieben (Thou Shalt Love the Lord Thy God), with an 14-piece orchestra, T. Herbert Dimmock directing. Featured soloists are: Treva Foss (soprano), Kristopher Jean (tenor) and Jason Thoms (bass). The concert begins with the world premiere of Isaac, an original composition by Hollis Thoms, performed by four soloists, treble choir, organ, and three percussionists. The concert will also feature Telemann’s Heroic Trumpet performed by soloist Elisa Koehler.

BALTIMORE LIEDER WEEKEND
Cabaret: Paris/Berlin
The celebration of “Lieder” - the German word for art song in the classical music world. The theme this year is “Cabaret: Paris/Berlin.” The aim of festival is to explore a corner of this amazing genre in a lively and imaginative fashion. The special guest is Prof Peter Jelavich, author of “Berlin Cabaret” (Harvard University Press), as well as singers Ryan de Ryke and Samantha Malk.

COMMUNITY CONCERTS AT SECOND
Chamber Music by Candlelight Concerts
Community Concerts at Second will present two free exceptional classical music concerts to the public.
Members of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra will present a Chamber Music by Candlelight concert, including the works of Debussy, Takemitsu, and local composer, Leshnoff.
Sun Oct 7 7:30pm.
The world renowned Morgan State University Choir, under the baton of Dr. Eric Conway, will perform. This concert is tailored for children and their families.

Featuring the 2009 - 2012 Baker Artist Award Winners in “An Evening of Artistic Excellence,” the artists will perform individually as well as in collaboration. Participating artists include 2009 Baker Award Winner Carl Grubbs, Saxophonist, 2009 Baltimore Choice Award Winners Adam Hopkins, Bassist, Rob Levit, Guitarist, Vincent Thomas, Dance/Choreographer; 2010 Baker Award Winner Peter Minkler, Violist, Baltimore Choice Award Winners Amanda Fair, Dance/Choreographer; 2011 Baker Award Winners Audrey Chen, musician, and Shodekeh, vocal percussionist, B-Grant Award winners, Naoko Maeshiba, dance/choreographer; Bashi Rose, filmmaker; Michelle Nelson, poet; Ellen Cherry, singer/songwriter; Todd Marcus, bass clarinetist, Nathan Bell, musician; Smooth Kentucky.
